Our DataLiberator tool utilize automated processes to migrate complete database schemas/structures and data between legacy and target databases and platforms. High range of legacy data stores are supported either non-relational like ADABAS, VSAM, ISAM etc. or Mainframe DB2 and many more. Data validation and audit processes during ETL are also included in our solution.

On the target side we support practically any RDBMS products like Oracle, DB2/UDB, MSSQL, MySql, PostgreSql, and even NoSQL solutions like MongoDB or Couchbase.

Our DataLiberator engine is suitable for migrating IDMS or CA-IDMS databases to various relational database engines like Oracle, Microsoft MSSQL server, DB2 or UDB/LUW, PostgreSql, MySql or others. All features of the CODASYL database SET/KEY etc. are supported during schema migration and normalization to RDBMS.

Mainframe DB2 migration to open system RDBMS

Our DataLiberator engine supports cross database migrations from one relational database to another like migrating legacy Mainframe DB2 databases to open platform RDBMS products like IBM DB2/UDB, Oracle, Tibero, Microsoft MSSQL or other. Our automated tool parses legacy DDL and migrates the schema to the target RDBMS syntax. Data type conversions, built-in functions, stored procedures are both respected and supported during the automated migration.

Ingres to other RDBMS

The DataLiberator engine supports cross RDBMS database migrations from one relational database to another. Ingres databases can be automatically migrated to other RDBMS products like PostgreSql, Oracle, Tibero, Microsoft MSSQL, MySql or other. Our automated solution parses Ingres DDL and migrates the schema to the syntax of the target engine. Data type conversions, built-in functions, stored procedures are respected and supported during the automated migration.

Informix to other RDBMS

DataLiberator supports cross RDBMS database migrations from one relational engine to another. Ingformix databases can be automatically migrated to other RDBMS products like Oracle, Microsoft MSSQL, DB2/UDB, MySql, PostgreSql or other. Our automated solution parse Informix DDL and migrates the schema to the syntax of the target engine. Data type conversions, built-in functions, stored procedures are respected and supported during the automated migration.

ISAM/VSAM migration to RDBMS or NoSQL

Our database migration engine DataLiberator supports the automated migration of VSAM, ISAM or other file based legacy databases either on Mainframe or open systems to various RDBMS products like PostgreSql, Oracle, Tibero, Microsoft MSSQL or other. The data access and management concept of legacy applications on such file systems is sometimes closer to a NoSQL implementation than to a relational model, so the overall migration might be more straightforward and efficient to a NoSQL solution like MongoDB or Couchbase. DataLiberator also supports that concept and migration plan.

Our tool covers automated schema conversion based on COBOL or PL/I copybooks and also using other relevant information of the application source code e.g. REDEFINE.

REST or Web services for database access

In case you migrate your pre-relational database – ADABAS, IDMS – to a relational model, besides schema and data conversion our CodeLiberator engine can also generate services to the new DAO layer. Creating services like REST or Web services to the migrated database provides you with flexible options for system integration by opening up your database for external users in a standard way.
